Plot
Based on the collection of short stories "Kuroi Gashu - Kusa -" by Seicho Matsumoto (published April 10, 1960 to June 19, 1960 in weekly magazine Shukan Asahi).
Ichiro Numata (Hiroaki Murakami) is the chief editor of a publishing company. He suddenly falls unconscious and is hospitalized, but various cases takes place at the hospital.
Hospital Director Kenichiro Asashima and Chief Nurse Junko Amemiya goes missing. There are rumors that they were in a close relationship. Head of Drug Management, Yasuharu Horimura is found dead. Rumors were that he stalked Junko Amemiya. The investigation into his dead is carried out as a suicide case, but Detective Eiji Kirishima (Takanori Jinnai) suspects foul play.
Ichiro Numata follows with his sharp eyes what transpires at the hospital and he also holds a secret.

Synopsis
Tokuzo Akiyama (Takeru Satoh) is a young man living in a rural area. One day, he eats cutlet. That experience leads him to become a cook for western style food. He first goes to Tokyo and then Paris, France to learn about the culinary arts. Fighting against discrimination and prejudice, he becomes a chef at the Hotel Ritz in Paris, France. At the age of 26, he becomes the chef for the Emperor of Japan.

In 1904, at New Year's, the Akiyama family in Fukui prefecture were full of hope except for one thing. Shuzo (Tetta Sugimoto) worries that his second son, Tokuzo (Takeru Satoh) just quits things too easily unlike the first son, Shutaro (Ryohei Suzuki). The worried father arranges his son to marry Toshiko (Haru Kuroki) of the Takahama family who runs a seaweed merchant. One day, newly-married Tokuzo encounters Sergeant Tanabe (Hideaki Ito) of the Sabae Regiment while delivering seaweed. Tokuzo has a piece of freshly-fried cutlet offered by Tanabe and is struck by the overwhelming taste. ~ TBS

Synopsis

Synopsis:
Three years ago. Fan (Lau Ching Wan) suffered a schizophrenic breakdown, killed his wife (Michelle Ye), and unsuccessfully attempted to kill himself. He was arrested and sentenced to rehabilitation in a psychiatric facility indefinitely. Chow (Huang Xiaoming) is Fan's psychiatrist. He believes that after years of treatment and against all odds, Fan has recovered. He is determined to see Fan discharged. However when Fan is released back into society, he suffers discrimination and once again finds himself at the brink of collapse. One night, Fan kills a drug addict, and turns to his only friend Dr Chow for help. Chow fears if the event is uncovered, his career will be destroyed. He decides to help Fan and conceal the truth, while at the same time being tormented by the media and public opinion. But Fan's clinging to Chow only makes things worse. In order to undo his mistakes, Chow decides to heal Fan secretly. However, in the course of the treatment, can Chow make his way out of this bottomless psyche whirlpool?
