This is the first movie that I've used QTGMC deinterlacer. Currently it's the most advanced deinterlace method available and the result is phenomenal. This is how deinterlacing is supposed to be done. Previous deinterlacers always had problems with artifacts in area with motion, the picture would be blurred while in areas with no motion tends to have a shimmering/flickering effect. QTGMC does not have any of these problems. The downside is that it's very slow compared to the other deinterlacers, but the result is well worth the time spent.
I used only a dual core AMD and deinterlacing, resized with NNEDI3 and sharpened with LimitedSharpenFaster, took 47 hours.
Then encoding to x264 used pass1 4 hours and pass2 another 9 hours.
Total time spent, 60 hours.
