Given the political times at hand, I couldn't help to supply you with a little jewel, I would say, which I was very happy to get my hands on from somewhere else.

Fact of facts is, "we" virtually know less to nothing about the DPRK. Except what the media and the occasional, although mostly "shocking" documentary or two that may educate us about this last real relic of the Cold War era show us.

Fact is also, that despite the for us unimaginable difference that separates "us" from "them", meaning the people of the DPRK, within its' time at least, have developed an art form, which, according to the Guiness Book of World Records, if western scrutiny has any value, is recognised as the biggest mass event of its kind.

So not everything from the DPRK is dangerous and evil!

On the 16th of February 2002, the DPRK celebrated the 60th Birthday of Dear Leader Kim Jong Il. The mass gymnastic display titled "under banner of army-based policy" was given by 10,000 school youth and children at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium. Seeing the display were Kim Yong Nam, President of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Jo Myong Rok, director of the general political department of the Korean People's Army, Hong Song Nam, premier of the DPRK cabinet, and other senior party and state officials. Also among the spectators were congratulatory groups of Koreans overseas including the congratulatory group of Koreans in Japan and compatriots overseas. Present on invitation were diplomatic envoys of different countries here, delegations and delegates and other foreign guests. The mass gymnastic display was divided into seven parts including "We will glorify Korea with arms," "We will never forget the army-based leadership exploits " and "Let us hold Kim Jong Il in high esteem with faith and sense of obligations."
