This is the discography of Afrirampo (あふりらんぽ, Afuriranpo), an Osaka-based experimental rock duo that was active from 2002 to 2010. The members were Oni (guitar, vocals) and Pika(chu) (drums, vocals). The band was known for their unusual stage attire and wild, noisy and largely improvised live shows. Included here are all their seven albums, one album by Acid Mothers Afrirampo, a collaboration with members of the Acid Mothers Temple collective, an early EP and a split single with The Hospitals. Also included are live recordings, interviews and assorted images.

"Afrirampo's music often featured call and response vocals, catchy distorted pop melodies, looping fret noise, droning feedback, guttural barks and impromptu squealing. Their early albums featured a sound that could be described as noise-punk, albeit with surprisingly melodic vocal melodies. Their later albums, especially Suuto Breakor and We Are Uchu No Ko, featured a much more expansive sound, sometimes with very long songs and quieter, more ethereal passages. There was also an African influence that derived in part from a 2004 stay with pygmy tribes in Cameroon, Africa, documented on their 2006 album Baka Ga Kita. The band's later albums featured noticeable elements of African music, with a tribal percussive sound and call-and-response vocals." - Wikipedia

"Wild, crazy and highly entertaining Afrirampo have quickly made an impact in Japan and abroad. The young female duo hails from Osaka, a city known for its lack of restraint and hearty sense of humor. Afrirampo indeed have been described as filling "a long-standing idiot savant gap on the Osaka underground scene". Guitarist/ vocalist Oni and drummer/vocalist Pika (sometimes listed as Pikacyu) first teamed up in May of 2002, when they were both still teenagers. They first played together during a loose jam held in a park near Osaka Castle, which mostly involved drumming and dancing. Today they perform dressed in red, which theoretically enhances their senses, and with their faces heavily made-up. Even though the musical training is, in their words "for small", they manage to drag all sorts of sounds out of their instruments and do so with boundless energy. Somehow they manage to be both cute and barbaric at the same time. Afrirampo it seems largely improvise their performances, often very noisily, giving their steadily growing audience the impression that anything may happen next." - Nippop

"Hailing from the western Japanese city of Osaka, Afrirampo are often considered representative of their hometown's manic, freewheeling approach to rock music, following on from bands like Boredoms and Acid Mothers Temple. The two female members, known only as Oni and Pikachu, formed the group in 2002 and quickly made a name for themselves among fans of lo-fi experimental rock with their combination of free-form garage punk and nonsensical call-and-response vocal utterances, and have collaborated with such luminaries of Japanese underground and noise music as Keiji Haino and Yoko Ono." - Allmusic.com
