The Sacred Journey Of Ku-Kai series was inspired by the legendary pilgrimage of Buddhist monk Ku-Kai to 88 temples on the isle of Shikoku. Following in the monk's footsteps, Kitaro has visited these temples to record bell sounds which serve as a basis for the compositions on these records.
