Synopsis:
Boasting some of the hottest idols and actors today, two highly-rated Mainland-produced series of Strange Tales of Liaozhai
graced the television in 2005 and 2007. The third series, to be aired in 2010, is no different, headlined by an array of
popular stars including Taiwanese and Hong Kong actors Roy Chiu, Tony Sun, Lee Wei, Frankie Lam, actresses Stephanie Hsiao,
Jess Zhang, Gong Mi, and pop singer Fiona Sit in her first costume drama appearance. Like its two predecessors,
this supernatural drama series is an anthology of six captivating stories adapted from Qing-dynasty writer
Pu Songling's Liao Zhai Zhi Yi, namely:

Liao Zhai Zhi Yi, or Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio, is a collection of nearly five hundred mostly supernatural tales
published during the early Qing Dynasty. 3 stories are selected in this 24 episode series (Volume 1).
Another 3 stories will be featured in another 24 episode series entitled Spirit Fox (Volume 2)
will be uploaded after completion of Ghost Story III (Volume 1).

Jiang Cheng and Gao Fan should have had a blissful married life if Jiang Cheng hadn't been possessed by a snake demon.

This is the story of Gongsun Jiu Niang in which her entire family clan had been killed by the evil and corrupt magistrate
and her sister-in-law was almost raped by the magistrate and later she committed suicide in order not to be raped by him.
When Gongsun Jiu Niang and her fellow disciple found out that the magistrate was responsible for the slaughter of her
entire family, she sworn to take revenge. When Gongsun Jiu Niang and her fellow disciple went to take their revenge,
they will outnumbered by the magistrate’s constables and were killed. Later, she return as a vengeful ghost and with
the help of her fiancé plot to take revenge by pretending to marry the magistrate’s daugther.

a priest who mistakes the pair of sisters to be evil spirits.
