NOTE: I know the size of the files are small. However, I put this up purely for fans who do not have much space for the larger files as well as people who want to see the series and movie but don’t want to waste their ratio downloading something they may end up not liking.
If you are a newbie, a lot of fans do recommend you watch the TV series BEFORE the movie. Neither is a prequel or sequel of the other. It is basically the same plot told in a different way. The film was released in 1996 at a time when several characters from the manga hadn’t been developed or even introduced yet. The TV series first aired in 2001 when CLAMP had established the main characters in the manga and they were more rounded. This info is important when watching the film and why there are several differences between the two, especially in terms of which characters appear and hwo they are portrayed.
With the film, it focuses on the main three characters and the plot expands over three days. The TV series displays the action from Kamui’s arrival to the end expanding at least a month and there is a lot more plot and character development. Watch the movie first if you wish but I personally do not believe that you cannot truly appreciate or understand it UNTIL you have seen the TV series. And episode 00 (“An Omen”) is more of a flashback episode and contains spoilers. I recommend you skip this one, watch the rest and then go back to episode 00.
As of May 2011, the manga remains incomplete and has been in status since 2003. Currently, the manga series expands to 19 volumes (the 19th volumes contains the final 5 chapters).
