Synopsis
This is another well-directed film by master Ringo Lam, albeit not being well-known, it still does its job. This film not only features a dark and punishing story about witness protection and Hong Kong thugs. It also shows that Sammo Hung is a damn good actor. This is one of his best acting performances in his career. We see Sammo being a witness to a murder, and due to the fact that the police fails to help me, he becomes more and more desperate. In the end, he chooses to live with a buddy cop, who also gets harassed by thugs. The action here is not your typical Kung-Fu matches, but more acrobatic brawls, pretty typical for HK standards at the time, but heads and shoulders above everything else. The comedy in this film also blends in just perfectly. Everything seems to work in this film. And the villain Kong Leung Wong might have just given the most grimacing performance ever, you will hate him with all your gut. This is a great film to have if you're a HK film junkie.
最初に、なんか不思議な風格に引き付けられ、闇の天下に一人サモ・ハンで小飯店の前にシャワーして、ホースが両脚中に詰め込んで挟み、水は小川ようなホースから流れ出し、ちょっとおかしいなシーンだっと思う。ゴキブリ一つは窓でくっ付きをサモは見ちゃったのは、まずい感じじゃなく代わりに、よくはしゃぐタオルを拾い、手でそれをクラクラし始め、最後にゴキブリに狙って、体の真ん中に当たった。ゴキブリはすぐに床に落ちて、死ぬ。
サモは気前な店主として主役を演じる。よりも巻き込んで投入し、上手と信じられるの奴だったぞ。皆の尽力わけでこれは素晴らしくなおうとするよ。
