| Ao Hebi Buro (Blue Snake Bath) is the third movie in the Hebi (Snake) trilogy: the first one was Shiro Hebi Koma (White Snake Woman), then Shunen no hebi (Vindictive Snake) in 1958. The series of films featured glamour girl Ikuko Mori: in the course of making the first film, producer Shin Sakai came to discover that Ikuko loved the slithery reptiles and quickly she became known as the “snake actress”. In the film, she handles a lot of live snakes and also on hand is some surprisingly near nudity in a scene. Ten years later, she was the woman monster with a snake-like neck (a Rokurokubi) in the classic Daiei gem Yokai 100 Monogatari. |
