One day she finds a flyer advertising a free sample of yakisoba at a local food stand called “Spartan-go” which is run by owner Tanaka and his employee Taku. As the sampling begins, Miichan keeps returning again and again for more free yakisoba, causing Tanaka to scold Taku for not noticing. However, when Miichan returns for more, Taku finally stands his ground and refuses to serve her. When Miichan tries to pick a fight, Taku is terrified and tries to drive away, but the Miichan won’t let him go that easily. Taku eventually accepts his fate and a fierce battle ensues.
According to Tak in English, this segment is an homage to the 1984 Jackie Chan film, Wheels on Meals, which was called “Spartan X” in Japan.

After running through that rather sobering scenario in her head, she begins frantically vacuuming and tidying up her apartment. With that finished, she finds one of her notebooks and starts worrying that they may discover some of her lame poetry and make fun of it, so she decides she must incinerate it all before she dies. Tormented by thoughts of embarrassing things detectives might say about her in death, Ryoko’s fate is completely altered.
