It was released on February 28, 2007 in Japan along with its counterpart A Best 2: Black. The album debuted at #1 in Japan and several countries throughout Asia. A Best 2: White was ranked #3 on CDJapan's Top 100 album of 2007
Both sets are available in 1CD+2DVD versions with limited version covers for each albums color. Both albums feature songs between the release of her "Evolution" single to her "Bold & Delicious/Pride" single. A Best 2: White includes "Light" songs with "bright/cheerful/upbeat" lyrics.
