SYNOPSIS
Continue from the previous story. After offending the lawyer regulations and has been abandoned by the bar, Lau is involved in a murder and troubles have come to him. Right at that time every piece of evidence points to Lau as the murderer of a policeman who had been hostile to him. His mother is now suffering from terminal disease but trying her best to sustain her life just for his son... On the court when everyone believes he will be condemned, the prosecutor suddenly reveals a secret and that changes the jury’s decision.
The Unwritten Law, The Truth, and The Truth - Final Episode features superstar Andy Lau as a young lawyer who grew up in an orphanage, and this has become his most representative role in his early acting career. In these three films he co-stars with Deanie Ip to unfold a most touching mother-son relationship, and they are among the few titles in Hong Kong cinema that praises parent-child affection. The last episode of the trilogy The Truth - Final Episode, directed by Michael Mak Dong-kit, is even more touching than The Truth. The son's misery and the mother's tragic life will no doubt arouse the sympathy of the audience.

Personal note on the movie: I personally feel that the final installment is the best among the three, and the first one, although marketed as the first in the trilogy, I find it not too in 'clique' with the other two (the last two are enough to stand on their own). Nonetheless the trilogy is too great to be missed, so grab all three! The filesize is small, but the quality is good!![]()
