Plot:

PROS
Higarino gives an impressive performance as Sakura (reliant more on physical expression than dialogue) and Mai
Director John Cairns makes the most out of the film's budget (good use of sets, great cinematography, animated segments, changed perspective with female empowerment etc.)
Melds genres quite well (zombie flick, road movie, coming-of-age)

CONS
The title is very misleading (do NOT expect a movie like it is from Sushi Typhoon)
The budget can really constrain the film (particularly the animated segments)
The ending can be quite polarizing

SCORE: 7/10 (A bit of an uneven experience, but Higarino's performance and John Cairn's direction make this film worthwhile and a nice alternative from the typical Japanese splatter genre.)

Plot

A group of university students who belong to the same tennis club, Shino Yuta, Sakurada Miki, Sasaki Rinka, Takano Natsu, Fueki Mana, Tachibana Satsuki and Sakurada Wataru, go on a graduation trip to a cottage in the mountains in winter. Although the seven members seem to be good friends, each of them actually has secrets which they cannot tell anyone about; hidden feelings of love and jealousy. Yuta, the cool and brilliant president of the club, is attracted to the sociable and trusting Miki, and intends to tell her about his feelings on this trip, but things do not work out the way he wants. Synopsis:

Plot/Synopsis:

On the Job focuses on four men. Both of them as a group, each stood on either side of the law. Film explores the impact of their actions to their families.

A gritty crime-thriller about four men struggling to survive and a make living for themselves and their respective loved ones. Two are former prison inmates, hired as contract killers, and the two other are law enforcers and investigators, caught in the loop of corrupt government officials. Mario intends to go straight when he gets parole, and Daniel a younger inmate and Mario's apprentice, is set to replace him as hired killer. In the night of a glamorous jewel exhibition opening in Bangkok, a gun shot rang out. A young man and a young woman, who were reaching toward climax of life, are facing critically each other across the gun shot.
